Primary 7 World War 2 Day!

Posted on March 28th, 2007 in P7 by Kingswells School

On Tuesday 27th March Primary 7 had a World War 2 day.  We came to school dressed in 1940s style clothes and some of us even brought war-time packed lunches!

We played a game called “Cannon” that children in the 1940s played and there was even an air raid!

Here are some photos:

In every class there is a bottle given to us by the p3s for us to put any spare change in. It goes to wateraid so they can turn your pennies in to water.

p.5 SM have started working with Paul Foy from the Belmont and are making some films.  They are going to act out and film some poems.  When all the films are edited they will go to the Belmont cinema to watch their films on the big screen.  I wonder if any films will win any oscars!! :)

K’Nex Challenge

Posted on March 23rd, 2007 in P4 by Kingswells School

Today, Wednesday 21st March, all the P4’s took part in the K’nex challenge. They became engineers for the day and were asked to design and build a vehicle, with no more than 4 wheels, that had a purpose. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and a wide range of fabulous vehicles were produced. Pictured below are the top 3 vehicles, chosen by our guest for the afternoon, an engineer from the oil industry. The winners (pictured) will now go on to the Aberdeen final at Pittodrie in May.

Last week all the p5s went ice skating and we had a LOT of falls. It was good fun. Thomas in our class is very good at ice skating and me and my friends were very scared when he did his tricks. After ice skating we went to Satrosphere to learn about the body.

P5 boys football team has been doing well. We have lost only 2 and drawn 1 this season. Callum Wiggins has done great saves to keep us in the game.  Clark Scott has been scoring goals when we have been losing and keep in as well  and our defence has been doing phenomemaly with our defenders who are Robert Bruce, Jed Mitchell, Murray Mcloud and Murray Grant.
