Posted on February 26th, 2007 in General by kingswellspupil

All over the UK during Fairtrade Fortnight, campaigners will be holding events to raise awareness about Fairtrade.

On Thursday 8th March there will be a drop-in wine tasting for mums and dads at Books and Beans, Belmont Street, between 6.30 and 8.30 pm.

On Saturday 10th March there will be a Fairtrade Fayre in Queen Street Church, Aberdeen, (next to the Arts Centre) from 10 am till 4 pm.  There will be several stalls with a range of Fairtrade products, product sampling, activities and competitions, face painting and refreshments.  The highlight will be a visit from Conrad James, a banana seller from St Lucia.

Should be fun!

On Tuesday the 19th of February , at the first whole school assembly with Mrs Glover, Kingswells Primary got an unexpected visit from Aberdeen Footballers Jamie Smith and Barry Nicholson and Aberdeen Football Clubs mascot-ANGUS THE BULL!!! The pupils were thrilled to see such a well known character and the hall was so full of shouts and cheers I could barely think! Everyone got a chance to say hello and all left with a smile on their face! :-)

Thank you to all who made this possible.
